Happy New Year everyone!!!! I love these First Days...so much a feeling of fresh starts and beginnings.
The other day I was catching up with a dear friend of mine -- who I don't see nearly as much as I'd like to, not even a smidgeon as much. (And you know who you are.)
It looks like I won't be seeing her much in the near future. She's been offered a job with an amazing organization and will probably be sent somewhere in the world that's reachable only by ... (Read More)

Vague language requires the reader to take your word for it, instead of providing proof of your gifts. To make sure your message is received, consider using the following:
- Words that are specific and illustrate your point clearly
- ... (Read More)

Do you want to change careers? Get a head-start and reach out to someone in your field of interest. To do this, check the internet (especially blogs), check for professional associations in that field, or simply contact a person that has the job that you want (call a company you know that has the position and ask to talk to them). If you find someone passionate about their field they will most likely be able to answer some simple questions for you that ... (Read More)

(This is the first posting in a series based on everything I’ve been learning since I wrote Rebound: A Proven Plan for Starting Over After Job Loss, which will be published in February. But you can order it now on Amazon and get a special pre-pub price.)
If you’re one of the roughly bajillion people who have seen, read, bought The Secret, you know about the Law of Attraction. Personally I’ve got mixed feelings about the Law of Attraction (even ... (Read More)
